About

I am a licensed psychotherapist who specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Christian Counseling. I have been in private practice for over 20 years and have worked in the field of social work for over 30 years. In my private practice, I work with families and individuals to maximize their healthy functioning. My clients are people who are experiencing some difficulties, whether interpersonal, occupational, or psychological, which affects their healthy functioning. As a psychotherapist, I encourage, support, challenge, and educate.
My interest in counseling stems from a genuine desire to see my clients lead a life that is balanced and healthy. I know the value of positive and healthy family life, a life connected to the community, and a commitment to spiritual growth. I draw from life experiences that inform the knowledge I gained from my education, as I work with my clients. Due to my cultural background, as a West Indian, I am competent in the areas of cultural diversity. This allows clients who feel more connected to their culture and who want someone who will view their behaviors and thought process through the filter of their specific culture, to be more at ease. I don’t have all the answers, but I am willing to take the journey with my clients to discover them. I believe that in a balanced life there will be activity in all areas, the spirit, body, and mind.
