About

You may find yourself struggling with the demands of society along with personal stressors and past trauma. I specialize in providing supports for adults, children, and teens of color who strive to take back their emotional and mental freedom. With support, one can build resilience after experiencing tremendous grief and trauma. My goal as your counselor is to provide support as you garner skills to face difficult roadblocks that might otherwise seem too overwhelming to tackle or unconsciously hidden. Some of these obstacles can cause stress, anxiety, anger, depression, shame, insecurities, and conflicts with relationships.
As your counselor, I use specific styles and techniques to help you create a path of wellness. Depending on your needs, my methods may include person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, reality therapy, existential, and emotion-focused techniques. I also use culturally relevant techniques to cater to those of black, indigenous, and ethnic decent.
There are multiple, if not infinite, layers and intersectionalities in one’s life. My role is to help individuals examine, reflect, and explore those layers as this is essentially part of the healing journey. Counseling is a deep therapeutic relationship with the healing and the supporter. You do not need to take the journey alone.
